SUMMARY:Synthesis Panel on Governance and Aligning Facility Requirements a
 nd Concerns
DESCRIPTION:Minisymposium\nComputer Science and Applied Mathematics, Emerg
ing Application Domains, Chemistry and Materials\n\nSynthesis Panel on Gov
ernance and Aligning Facility Requirements and Concerns\n\nShankar, Wells,
Alam, Mann\n\nWe synthesize the perspectives from Experimental and Observ
ational Facilities, Computational Facilities, and considerations of the da
ta middleware (which acts as the connective tissue) in this synthesis pane
 l. We discuss a model for how governance across the facilities can address
impedance mismatches and make such collaborations easy to set up and move
forward. We believe this will constitute an important step in creating an
  agenda for cross-facility collaborations.
