SUMMARY:Linear Solvers and Portable Kernels for Next Generation HPC Platfo
 rms: Kokkos Kernels and Trilinos
DESCRIPTION:Minisymposium\nComputer Science and Applied Mathematics, Engin
eering\n\nLinear Solvers and Portable Kernels for Next Generation HPC Plat
forms: Kokkos Kernels and Trilinos\n\nHeroux\n\nArchitecture changes are r
esulting in heterogeneous hardware becoming common across several Top 500
supercomputers. In order to keep up with these changes, high performance c
omputing algorithms and software are required to adopt to the features of
modern architectures. This talk will cover a set of solvers that are curre
ntly used in several HPC applications, how they are being adopted to the l
atest architecture features, performance implications of these work and th
e open problems. Changes in solver algorithms also necessitate requirement
s for new kernels in the software stack. I will outline the requireme
nts for the kernels, how to develop these kernels in performance portable
manner. I will cover the Kokkos ecosystem being developed at Sandia a
nd how it can be used to develop these kernels. The talk will cover solver
s from the Trilinos software and kernels from the Kokkos Kernels package.
