SUMMARY:LIF01 - Health 2030 Genome Center: a Stateful Data Analysis Platfo
 rm for Genomic Medicine
DESCRIPTION:Poster\n\n\nLIF01 - Health 2030 Genome Center: a Stateful Data
Analysis Platform for Genomic Medicine\n\nBartha, Howald, Lamparter, Hars
hman, Fellay...\n\nOver the past decade, access to genomic information imp
roved dramatically, thanks to technological developments and innovative in
terdisciplinary efforts. Interpreting the life- and disease relevant infor
mation encoded in and by DNA and RNA is becoming easier by the day thanks
to the technological developments. Genomic Medicine, i.e. the individualiz
ation of prevention and treatment based on genomic information, is becomin
g a reality in several countries, starting with the UK and followed by oth
ers such as Switzerland. This advance comes with computational challenges,
notably the necessity to compute rapidly the rapidly-increasing interpret
able fraction of the genome, but also to maintain and reanalyze regularly
this wealth of data for clinical and research purposes. The growth in the
amount of genomic data has surpassed our capacity to store it, priming the
community to develop better solutions for representing genomes, such CRAM
and MPEG-G. The Health2030 Genome Center is an innovative project that pr
ovides both data generation as well as data analytics to support genomic m
edicine. We will present both the state of the art in the field and t
he computational challenges emerging from implementing, sustaining, exposi
ng and re-analyzing accurately the clinically-interpretable genome as
well as the approaches the Health2030 is taking to address these issues.
