SUMMARY:CSM16 - The Performance Optimisation and Productivity (POP) HPC Ce
ntre of Excellence: Identifying and Finding the Causes of Inefficiency in
 Parallel Applications
DESCRIPTION:Poster\n\n\nCSM16 - The Performance Optimisation and Productiv
ity (POP) HPC Centre of Excellence: Identifying and Finding the Causes of
Inefficiency in Parallel Applications\n\nMiah\n\nThe POP project, a parall
el application profiling and optimisation service, successfully completed
the first phase of the project which has resulted in more than 125 assessm
ents of parallel HPC applications. The project has just received its secon
d round of funding and this service is free of charge for users based in t
he EU. This poster will present POP case studies where parallel inefficien
cy was identified using the POP methodology and open-source profiling tool
s with recommendations on how to address them. The parallel paradigm, prog
ramming languages used, and the type of inefficiencies identified in codes
will be presented from the first phase of the project.
