DescriptionThis minisymposium will focus on application developers in climate weather modeling and computational fluid dynamics who will share their stories while they migrate(d) several thousands to millions of lines of legacy code, written in C/C++ and Fortran, to modern heterogeneous platforms using a directive-based parallel programming model, OpenACC – a model that is being heavily driven by application developers. This minisymposium is being built along the themes of PASC that offers an excellent forum for an exchange of competences in scientific computing and computational science. Speakers will share their success stories and more importantly the challenges they encountered along the way, thus offering productive insights into the porting process of real-world legacy codes to the PASC attendees.
